Jack's Comments: This is from the Blue Pyrenees winery and is a label that they use occasionally from special wines, Blue Pyrenees Estate is located on the outskirts of the historic town of Avoca in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountain range in central Victoria, less than two hours drive from Melbourne.
My tasting notes read rich and intense flavours with plenty of plum and dark cherry on the palate, this wine really opened up after a little bit of breathing and was beautiful to drink and was what I call a bargain or a no brainer.
I hope you enjoy this lovely wine!
Winemaker's Comments: The wine is made from a selection of premuim parcels of Cabernet fruit sourced from the Blue Pyrenees Estates own vineyard. The wine has been matured in French and American oak barrels for 18 months to reach optimum maturity. Bright ruby in colour this wine has aromas of black cherry , menthol and allspice. Ripe blackberry flavours and a touch of sweet vanillan oak plus a long soft tannin finish complete this mouthfilling wine.
Blend: Cabernet
Region: Pyrenees Region Victoria
Cellaring Potential: Another couple of years will give this wine another dimension

Selected Review for Leydens Vale Pyrenees Cabernet

Leydens Vale Pyrenees Cabernet

I was really surprised when I tasted this 2006 cabernet. It wasn't at all sharp but is fruity and well rounded for such a young wine. I expect it's taste will deepen further with time. Outstanding value for money.
